Zeeda Closes $26M Series B Funding Round

Zededaa San Jose, Calif.-based, cutting-edge orchestration leader closed a $26 million Series B funding.

Backers included Coast Range Capital, Lux Capital, Energize Ventures, Almaz Capital, Porsche Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures, Juniper Networks, Rockwell Automation, Samsung Next and EDF North America Ventures.

The company, which has now raised more than $55 million since inception, intends to use the funds to accelerate research and development and expand sales and marketing.

Led by Said Ouissal, Founder and CEO, Zededa makes edge computing effortless, open and inherently secure, extending the cloud experience to the edge. It reduces the cost of managing and orchestrating distributed edge infrastructure and applications, while increasing visibility, security, and control. The company offers a cloud-native, distributed edge management and orchestration solution, simplifying the security and remote management of large-scale edge infrastructure and applications. Customer base includes OEM business with Global 500 companies, including a global virtualization software provider and a leading industrial automation company.

Zededa uses an open partner ecosystem with an app marketplace and operates an open architecture based on EVE-OS, from the Linux Foundation. EVE-OS is a lightweight, open-source Linux engine.

The nascent ecosystem around the open orchestration solution has attracted strategic partnerships and integrations with Google, Microsoft, PTC, and SUSE.
