Secret iPhone tips from former Apple employee wow TikTok
A former Apple employee who worked at the Genius bar took to TikTok and revealed all kinds of cool iPhone tips. Its videos are packed with informative advice, and even seasoned iPhone users are likely to learn something new.
By the way, it’s strange that Apple is bringing so many features into iOS but not actually communicating the extent of iPhone capabilities to end users. Instead, iPhone users should rely on TikTok videos and power users to learn more about amazing iPhone tricks, but I digress.
IPhone Tip – How to Select Multiple Emails or Messages at Once
As far as people use the Mail and Messages apps, this trick is surprisingly little known. Suppose you want to delete multiple emails. Instead of selecting each one individually, you can place two fingers on the screen and drag them down. When doing so, you will see an option to quickly select multiple messages to delete, archive, or move to another folder location.
Note that this two-finger technique also works in Messages to bulk select conversation threads to delete.
Record a video with music in the background
This iPhone trick really blew me away when I first stumbled upon it. As anyone who has recorded video with iPhone can attest, the background music in Spotify or Apple Music automatically stops when video recording starts. This is useful most of the time.
However, there are also times when you want to add your background music to a recording without having to edit it later in an editing app. If you want to record video with selected music in the background, the solution is simple. Once the music you want to play, open the Camera app. Now, instead of navigating to the Video setting, just press the white shutter button and swipe your finger to the right.
As you will see, the button changes to a red “Record” button when you slide your finger towards the edge of the screen. When you release your finger, the video is recorded while the background music continues to play.
Easily determine which song is playing
Using Shazzam to determine which song is playing is relatively straightforward. But there is actually a more transparent alternative that is worth mentioning.
As seen in the video below, it is possible to add a music recognition option to the control center. Once added, all you need to do is swipe to call the control center into action and tap on the Shazzam logo.

This is definitely an iPhone trick that music lovers will want to pay attention to.
Drag and drop files between apps
This is a new feature added by Apple in iOS 15. Finally, users can drag files from one application to another. As seen below, it’s easy to drag a photo from the Photos app directly into the Mail app.
