Metaverse platform Oorbit receives $5 million in funding from Mark Cuban and Deadmau5
Both the metaverse concept and blockchain gaming have exploded in recent years, with outside funding reaching the stratosphere. Oorbitan “eponymous arcade platform with blockchain-enabled AAA-grade games,” is another example of this growing trend, only the latter proving somewhat different in its core approach to the formula.
Although not yet fully released (launching in late 2022), the platform offers a suite of blockchain-based settings for those heavily investing in the space. These include full marketplaces (plural), interactive media, video games, live digital events, and more, all of which are delivered through content partners selected by Oorbit.

Its far-reaching approach has attracted investors like Mark Cuban, the Shark Tank star whose interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain is believed to be almost 80% of its total investments. Similarly, deadmau5, a NFT and Web3 enthusiastwas also in the midst of Oorbit’s latest seed funding round, awarding the entertainment metaverse platform a $5 million capital raise.

Company founder Ash Koosha had a few words about his platform which is an evolution of the atypical blockchain application format:
“Oorbit demystifies the core technologies that will play the biggest role in the growth of Web3 and the metaverse; blockchain, cloud streaming, NFT, fintech and more. We combine the best parts of these complex technologies to enable episodic entertainment that is un only amazing but also affordable, for all audiences. This round of funding will support the growth and expansion of the platform.
Oorbit’s Twitter description aptly reads: “What if you could travel between many worlds, play and take your identity with you?” The company is striving to be at the forefront of the metaverse concept, connecting all the idiosyncrasies of blockchain and web3 integrations under one roof. Its use of the cloud gaming format, taking the interesting ideals of Google’s Stadia and Amazon’s Luna and applying them to blockchain for an even more rewarding result.
While it’s not yet the 3D Internet of tomorrow, Oorbit is certainly onto something in its primarily cloud gaming-focused approach. Koosha has been a strong proponent of cloud gaming, especially EBCG, or event-based cloud gaming, and bringing this technology into Oorbit is where the platform will thrive as metaverse access point.
Cuban conveys his own thoughts on the company, calling it “an innovative platform” for game creators and brands to “easily deliver their most compelling work.” He adds: “Better yet, and at the heart of their plan, Oorbit has put the user at the center of their technology so that they enable games and even worlds that will delight all comers, and pave the way for growth. global metaverse.
With passionate proprietary technology driving its ecosystem, Oorbit proves that Web3 can be achieved with the right infrastructure. Although still in early access, those interested can apply by email at Orbit’s websitethe future is certainly still bright in its creator-specific approach to 3D world building.
