As you have seen, Google has been busy redoing the YouTube app lately. After introducing a pristine dimming mode that people already love today, now they bring us another feature. I’m talking about the ability to double tap to skip no more than 10 seconds forward or backward, which is a nice feature. However, wouldn’t you rather have the ability to swipe left or right to seek forward or backward through the video or swipe anywhere to control the volume on your device?

Install Youtube Swipe to search

To get started, go to the Download section of your Xposed Installer app and search for Youtube, swipe to search, then tap on the first result. From there, scroll down to the Versions tab, then tap the “Download” button next to the most recent entry. In a few seconds, the Android installer interface should appear, so tap “Install” on this screen. Then, once you have installed the module, make sure to activate it and restart it to finish.

Swipe to find and change volume on YouTube videos

After the restart, no further configuration is necessary. Just play any video on the official YouTube app, and when you want to search the video, just swipe left or right to skip forward or backward. When you do this, you’ll see a toast message telling you how much you’re jumping, so once you’ve found the perfect spot, just let go of the screen.

Other than that there is one more feature worth checking out but this one only works in full screen mode so turn your phone sideways or tap the full screen icon in the bottom corner video right. In full-screen mode, seek gestures will still work the same way, but now you can also adjust the volume with a swipe. Simply swipe up or down on the video to change the volume, then you’ll see a toast message confirming the new volume level.
