Apple Music Upcoming Lossless Audio Streaming, Android Update

After recent rumors that Apple will bring HiFi streaming to Apple Music in the near future, 9to5GoogleThe in-depth APK analysis of Apple Music Beta 3.6.0 on Android also revealed references to similar functionality for the Android variant.
The Apple Music app for Android currently offers two streaming options: high quality and high efficiency (for low data usage). According to the APK data extract, high-fidelity audio streaming and downloading will add two new quality options, “Lossless” and “High-Res Lossless”.
One of the references to HiFi audio found in the APK states:
Lossless audio files preserve every detail of the original file. Enabling it will consume a lot more data.
The “ Lossless ” and “ High-Res Lossless ” streaming and download quality options will both use Apple’s proprietary ALAC codec for music instead of the suboptimal AAC codec used by the two old options. quality.
The âHigh-Res Losslessâ option will offer sample rates of (up to) 192 kHz, while the âLosslessâ option will be capped at sample rates of 48 kHz.
The two new options will use a lot more data and a lot more storage space for the downloaded songs, and the app will adequately notify users of both.
While the beta version of iOS 14.6 also contains mentions of “Dolby Atmos” and “Dolby Audio,” there is no sign of any form of Dolby integration with Apple Music’s Android counterpart.
While inactive code snippets found in a new version of an app do not guarantee that the features they hint at will end up bringing live, with HiFi streaming being suggested for both iOS. and Android gives weight to this possibility.
