Amazon Introduces New AR Virtual Shoe Try-On Feature for Its iOS App

E-commerce giant – Amazon has announced a new feature that allows users to virtually try on shoes. Users in Canada and the United States region can now virtually try on shoes before making a purchase decision. The AR-powered feature is only available to Apple iPhone users as of now, and to try out the feature, the user must be using an iPhone 7 or newer iPhone, as confirmed by Amazon in the blog post.
Amazon, as part of the fitting catalog, has added shoes from various brands, including Adidas, Reebok, Puma, Lacoste, New Balance, etc. The brand says it now has thousands of pairs of shoes for users to try on before making a purchase. The brand in its blog post said,
“Virtual Try-On for Shoes gives customers a convenient way to visualize what a pair of shoes will look like, creating more immersive experiences when shopping for fashion online.”
To virtually try on a pair of shoes, users can simply tap the Virtual Try-On button that will appear on the product description page. After pressing the button, the user must point their iPhone camera at their feet to see what the shoes look like.
Customers can also change the colors simply by scrolling through the available options. The feature also allows users to move their feet so they can see the look of the shoe from all angles. Amazon also offers users the option to take a picture of the virtual shoe that they can share on social media.
The feature is only available in the US and Canada at this time. It’s unclear if Amazon plans to roll out the feature to other regions as well. Also, there is no word on the availability of the feature for Android users.
