A new study claims that brisk walking can slow biological aging. Many people think that this slow physical activity is only for older people.

They prefer jogging to brisk walking because exercising faster can help them lose more fat.
However, the new research titled “UK Biobank Cohort Survey Reveals Causal Associations Between Self-Reported Walking Pace and Telomere Length” explained that slow walks may actually help slow biological aging.
“A faster walking pace may be causally associated with longer LTL, which could help explain some of the beneficial effects of brisk walking on health status,” explains the study published by Leicester in the Communications Biology journal.

Fox 10 explained that the participants did so in the latest biological aging study. About 50% of those affected decided to walk at a normal pace.

On the other hand, 6% of them walked at a slower speed. Meanwhile, about 41% of participants relied on a brisk walking pace.
Those who walked the slowest have health complications, such as chronic illnesses. In contrast, fast walkers had better health.
For this reason, experts have concluded that people who walk regularly at a good pace have a slower biological aging than others.
