The company’s new iOS 15.3.1 version is compatible with all phones powered by iOS 15, a list that includes iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE 2, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 series.

Unlike iOS 15.3, the iOS 15.3.1 update is a small one-time upgrade. It brings an important bug fix for iPhone owners and also has an onboard security patch.

Jailbreak iOS 15.3.1

The developer teams behind jailbreak tools Checkra1n and unC0ver have released versions that are compatible with new versions of iOS 14, but only Checkra1n (currently in beta) is compatible with iOS 14.5. They do not support iOS 15.3.1, iOS 15.3, iOS 15.2.1, iOS 15.2, iOS 15.1.1, iOS 15.1, iOS 15.0.2, iOS 15.0.1, iOS 15.0, iOS 14.8, iOS 14.7.1 , iOS 14.7, iOS 14.6 or iOS 14.5.1 for now.

The latest version of unC0ver is compatible with new iPhones including the iPhone 12 series. That’s great news if you’ve been waiting to jailbreak your new phone. Unfortunately, it is only compatible with versions up to iOS 14.3.

There’s no way to downgrade your phone’s software to iOS 14.5 or earlier versions of iOS, which means you’re out of luck if you’re upgrading or have already upgraded to newer iOS software.

Apple has confirmed that a new version of iOS 15 and iOS 15.4 is currently in beta testing ahead of its public release. The company has yet to confirm a specific release date, but it should drop in March.
